Anthropic opens Claude Duet agent waitlist to Pro and Max users on Oct. 22
Anthropic's new background agent promises daily briefings and dashboards built from your data, but it is a waitlisted preview with no confirmed links to your trade software.
- What happened
On Oct. 22, Anthropic launched Claude Duet, an agent app for professionals and small businesses that builds daily briefings and dashboards, suggests actions based on a user's data and runs tasks in the background on its own virtual machine, built on Claude Opus 5.5 with access to over 6,000 connectors and plug-ins in the Claude Marketplace. It is in research preview through a waitlist on iOS, Android and the web via Claude.ai for Pro and Max customers, can make purchases through Stripe's Link or Shopify's Shop Pay with user approval, and will not trade securities or move money between accounts.
- What it means for a 10-to-50-person business
Duet is pitched at the morning report, not at running your business. Take an 18-person plumbing company where the owner spends 45 minutes each morning pulling yesterday's invoices from QuickBooks, open jobs from the dispatch board and callbacks from email into one page. If Duet builds that briefing and cuts the job to 15 minutes, that saves 30 minutes a day, or about 10.5 hours over 21 workdays. At $50 an hour, that is roughly $525 a month of owner time. The catch is the connectors. The source gives a count of 6,000 but does not say whether ServiceTitan, Jobber or Housecall Pro are among them. Without your field-service data, the briefing is half a briefing. It is also a research preview, so expect gaps. Care if you already pay for Claude Pro or Max and lose time each morning stitching reports together. Ignore it if you don't use Claude yet, or if your field-service tool already emails a daily summary you trust.
- What to do
- Wait
Do not buy a Claude seat just for Duet; if you already have Pro or Max, join the waitlist, check the Claude Marketplace for your accounting and field-service tools, and look again in January.

Questions owners ask
- Will Claude Duet connect to my field-service or accounting software?
Anthropic says Duet can use over 6,000 connectors and plug-ins in the Claude Marketplace, but the launch coverage does not list them. Search the marketplace for your exact tools before you count on it.
- Can Duet pay bills or move money for me?
No. It can make online purchases through Stripe's Link or Shopify's Shop Pay, and payments need your approval. It will not trade securities or move money between accounts.
- What does it cost?
Duet requires a Claude Pro or Max plan. The source gives no separate price for Duet itself.
Three to five of these, every weekday morning.
